Privacy Policy

Revised on January 2, 2010

FTOPIA knows that you care how information about you is used and shared, and we appreciate your trust that we will do so carefully and sensibly. This notice describes our privacy policy. By visiting ftopia.com and by using ftopia.net, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Notice.

Collecting personal information

The information that we collect from FTOPIA customers and users enables us to operate, personalize and continually improve your user experience with FTOPIA services.

We receive and store any information you enter on our Web site or give us in any other way. We use the information that you provide for such purposes as facilitating your communication with other FTOPIA users, helping FTOPIA admin users to manage their rooms, provisioning and billing FTOPIA services, and communicating with you. We also automatically receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with us. For example, like many Web sites, we use “cookies,” and we obtain certain types of information when your Web browser accesses our servers, such as your computer’s Internet Protocol address, browser type, or the web page you were visiting before you came to our Web site.

A cookie is a small file that we transfer to your computer’s hard disk for record-keeping purposes. We may use “persistent cookies” to save your registration ID and login password for future logins to the Site; and we use “session ID cookies” to enable our services. Cookies are required to use our services. You can instruct your browser, by changing its options, to stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from the websites you visit. If you do not accept cookies, however, you may not be able to use FTOPIA’s services.

Sharing and disclosing personal information

Information about our customers is an important part of our business, and we are not in the business of selling it to others. We do not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with other people or non-affiliated companies except to provide products or services you’ve requested, when we have your permission, or under the following circumstances:

The personal information that you submit in your profile page may be accessed by the other FTOPIA users associated to the same customer account; this information will NOT be disclosed to other FTOPIA users.

We employ third-party service providers to perform functions on our behalf. Examples include processing credit card payments, data storage, and web analytics. They have access to personal information needed to perform their functions, but may not use it for other purposes.

We transfer information about you if FTOPIA is acquired by or merged with another company. In this event, we will notify you before information about you is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

We release account and other personal information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law; enforce or apply the Terms of Use and other agreements; or protect the rights, property, or safety of FTOPIA, our users, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction. Obviously, however, this does not include selling, renting, sharing, or otherwise disclosing personally identifiable information from customers for commercial purposes in violation of the commitments set forth in this Privacy Notice.

Security

We employ reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access. Signing in to FTOPIA uses SSL technology to protect your user account identifier and your password. It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer. Be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer.

We reveal only the last digits of your credit card numbers when issueing a receipt. Of course, we transmit the entire credit card number to the appropriate credit card company during order processing.

Revisions

We may update this policy at any time. We will notify you about significant changes by sending a notice to your email address or by placing a prominent notice on our site. It is your responsibility to check FTOPIA Website pages regularly for changes to this Privacy Policy or to the Terms of Use.
