Is ftopia secure?
How is my information protected?
ftopia allows a secure online connection using SSL (Secure Socket Layer). SSL is a trusted communication protocol that allows for the secure, encrypted transfer of data online. This guarantees that the transfer of documents from your computer to a ftopia room cannot be compromised by attacks.
Once you connect to ftopia over SSL, you can save documents in rooms, which are isolated and protected workspaces that house the various documents.
You can also protect the information by granting access to specific users to rooms, as well as defining whether he or she can access or edit the room’s documents. If a user has sufficient access, he or she can add new files to a room, or edit an existing document in the room.
What type of support do you provide?
Local support is provided for paid accounts through e-mail tech support. You can send an e-mail to technical support using support at ftopia dot net email address. Most support e-mails are answered within one business day.
Where are my documents stored?
Is the infrastructure reliable?
ftopia uses Amazon Web Services (AWS) and its scalable, reliable, and secure distributed computing infrastructure that has been honed for over 13 years.
With ftopia, you take advantage of one of the world’s largest networks of web sites, serving millions of customers every month, and executing millions of transactions. ftopia’s infrastructure is scalable, reliable, and secure.
For how long do I have to pay my subscription?
Is there any minimum engagement required?
ftopia requires no commitment from you, charges no setup fee, no cancellation fee, no downgrade fee, or any charges for closing your account. As a ftopia account owner, you only pay the current subscribed month for your chosen plan.
To see what plan you currently have, or to make any changes to your existing subscription, please refer to the Billing section of the Accounts page.

From the Accounts page, you can view your current subscription details, including the current plan, charges, and the current rate.
Can I use other forms of payment besides credit cards?
Currently, ftopia only accepts credit cards for account charges. ftopia accepts Visa and Mastercard payment cards. Contact us if you wish to use other means of payment.
Where can I update my credit card information?
You may want to change your credit card information, for instance when your credit card expires. You can update your credit card details from the Account panel, and then clicking Change card.

Once you click Change card, the following screen appears:
Enter the details as required, and then click Save.
Note that we do not store your payment card information on ftopia servers. This information is sent to a payment processing system that fully complies with the payment card industry (PCI) regulations.
How can I upgrade, downgrade, or cancel my account?
ftopia provides a number of different account plans that are adapted to both your budget and your need. These plans range from a basic, free plan to a variety of paid plans. You can upgrade your current account to a better suited paid plan or even downgrade from a paid plan to a free plan as your situation warrants. Of course you can also cancel your ftopia account if necessary. These three options are all handed in the Account panel.
To make an account modification or cancellation, log on to ftopia as the account owner and go to the Account panel. The details of your account’s current plan are displayed below the billing section:

To upgrade or downgrade your account, click Click here to see plan details. You can then proceed to select the desired plan.
How can I get a copy of a previous month’s invoice?
Once your credit card is charged for your monthly subscription, an e-mail is sent with a copy of the invoice for the past month. You can access past invoices online in the Account panel.
Can I change the account owner?
Yes. Using the ftopia Account panel, you can assign the role to any user who belongs to the same organization as the current account owner.
What is your refund policy?
With ftopia, you only pay by the month. You can close your account or downgrade to a cheaper plan at any time; however, there are no refunds for the current month. Please refer to our terms of services for more information on refunds.
How is information organized in ftopia?
ftopia has been designed for ease of use and simplicity of sharing files.
With ftopia, everything revolves around rooms. Rooms are electronic workspaces where information is stored. You can invite other people to access rooms, and grant them rights to upload files or just to download them. Rooms are isolated from each other, so that you can trust that each document is only accessible to the right persons.
When a file is uploaded in a room, you can assign a category to it. Categories are there to make it very easy to search and organize documents within a room. You can define your own different categories for each room, in order to align the classification with the nature of the documents.
Can I manage different versions of a document with ftopia?
Yes you can! You can add an unlimited number of versions for each document stored in a room.
When you upload a new file with the same name than an existing one, ftopia automatically associate them as versions of the same document. You can also upload new versions with different file names, and delete old versions while keeping only the most recent ones.
Can I move or copy documents between rooms?
Yes, any ftopia user can move or copy documents from one room to another, as long as she or he has the right to upload files in the target room.
Can I move or copy documents between different ftopia accounts?
This is not currently possible in ftopia, because accounts are totally isolated from each other. If you want to share the same documents in two different accounts, you would need to upload them separately in each one.
Can I make my files available publicly?
No. ftopia has been designed to serve the needs of professionals and business, specifically collaborative services for teams. It is not meant to be used to public share files, such as image file sharing like flickr or video file sharing like youtube.
Is there a way to communicate with the members of a given room?
Yes, there is a message board in each room, with wich you can send a message to all room members.
Can I delete a room?
Yes. You can archive rooms, and delete rooms.
When a room is archived, it is no longer possible for a user to make any change in it, such as uploading a new file or changing a category. You can keep archived room as long as you want, and you can restore it as an active room whenever you want.
When a room is archived, you can also delete it. Deleting a room frees some storage space that you can use for new rooms. When you delete a room, all its content is permanently erased from ftopia servers.
What is the maximum size of a room?
Can I change the size once the room is created?
It’s up to you to decide what is the maximum size of a room. When you create a room, ftopia lets you define it so that your users cannot use more storage space than necessary.
You can change the maximum size of the room at any time.
